Mother Road: Eclectic Meats
Road kill is considered damaged goods by most but by others it’s a perfectly reasonable way of providing dinner to the family. Mother Road, Eclectic Meats prides itself on providing fresh and unique road kill from each state along Route 66.
When planning and researching for this project, my goal was to take something typically considered gross and make it extremely appealing. To incorporate thought and purpose behind the design, I researched famous highways. When I came upon Route 66, it was perfect. It provided several different states with unique animals. It is also a popular route for travel because of it's history.
For the overall design, I included a map of Route 66 that showed which states provided Mother Road meats. I also told a brief history of route 66 in relation to that specific state. I included a token in each package so that those traveling Route 66 could collect a unique one from each state. The designs in each background are based off of maps from each individual state and the colors that I chose are commonly used with high end meat packaging.
